Are you ready? Volleyball tryouts for the 2026 season are just around the corner! We encourage all interested incoming 7th and 8th grade girls to review the information below and make sure all required paperwork is completed before tryouts begin.

Tryout Dates

• Thursday, August 13

• Friday, August 14

• Saturday, August 15

7th Grade Tryouts

• Thursday & Friday: 7:00–8:15 AM

• Saturday: 8:00–10:00 AM

• Drop-off begins at 6:45 AM behind the school.

• Athletes may shower, change, and prepare for class following tryouts.

8th Grade Tryouts

• Thursday & Friday: 4:00–5:15 PM

• Saturday: 8:00–10:00 AM

• Pick-up is no later than 5:30 PM on Thursday and Friday.

• A late bus will be available for eligible students who register through Conroe ISD Transportation.

Requirements

All athletes must have:

• 2026–2027 Physical on file

• All Rank One forms completed before tryouts

• No exceptions

Tryout Attire

Participants should wear:

• Athletic-length black shorts

• White T-shirt

• Athletic tennis shoes

• Knee pads

Please note:

• Shorts must extend below fingertips.

• No tank tops, crop tops, spandex, leggings, tights, or jewelry.

• Hair must be secured in a ponytail.

Skills That Will Be Evaluated

Coaches will assess athletes in:

• Passing

• Setting

• Hitting

• Overhand serving

• Game play

• Court awareness

If You Make the Team

• Two teams per grade level (7A, 7B, 8A, 8B)

• Team rosters will be posted on the Stockton webpage after 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 15.

Practice Information

• 7th Grade: Practice every morning at 7:00 AM (except game days). Arrive by 6:45 AM.

• 8th Grade: Practice every morning at 7:00 AM (except game days). Arrive by 6:45 AM.

• Games: Typically played on Thursdays.

Parent Meeting

Parents of members who make the team must attend the Volleyball Parent Meeting on:

• Monday, August 17

• 5:30 PM

• Stockton Junior High – 8th Grade Gym
